The Monoc Titanium Nib
The Monoc Nib is an integrated titanium nib unit designed and manufactured in house by Schon DSGN. It is machined from solid titanium bar stock and utilizes a feed machined from amber Ultem, which darkens and takes on the color of the ink when in use. Its novel design and construction leads to a unique writing experience; the Monoc has a feel all its own and offers a dynamic array of line characteristics with multiple tip shapes to choose from.
Pen Options - The Monoc Nib is offered as a stand alone nib unit without a pen. To combine it with any fountain pen in our store in the place of a standard Jowo nib, add both the pen and Monoc of your choice to your cart and use the code “Monoc Combo” and receive a 12% discount off your nib purchase!
Nib Sizing - We currently have three tip shapes available for the Monoc nib: Fine, Medium, and Cursive. The Fine tip has a fine line that gets finer with higher angle writing, and a large reverse with an expressive architect-like characteristic. The Medium has a wider line weight with a finer line on the reverse. The cursive has a finer horizontal stroke, wider vertical stroke, and a very large and wet reverse.
Made To Order - Monoc nibs are individually finished, hand ground and tested to order. Please allow 5-10 working days for your nib to ship.
Cleaning - The Monoc Nib comes with a custom syringe cleaning tool designed to help you keep your Monoc in good shape for many years to come!

Our Monoc Nib was designed, engineered and manufactured in its entirety in our Philadelphia workshop, putting us among a very small number of companies globally who have achieved this feat in-house.
Full Integration
The titanium Monoc Nib, along with a precision machined Ultem feed, were designed in tandem and made within tight tolerances to ensure a quality flow of ink and careful management of air.
Machined Titanium
Our integrated nib tip allows for closer control of the geometry of the tip and writing surface in manufacturing, while the titanium offers a soft graphite-like quality that is a great writing experience.
Compatibility
The Monoc Nib is compatible with all of our pocket and full sized fountain pens that also take a Jowo #6 nib. It also features an o-ring to keep the nib snug in the section.
